Stop Thinking You Got This releases 5 June 2026
Give us a micro biography of you as a sound artist/musician.
I used to play guitar and sing in bands. Now I don’t. I retreat to my shed for a few hours daily, and apply lashings of aural balm to ease the aching joints and quieten my busy mind.
Tell us a little about the album.
It all began on November 3rd 2025 following a short period in the doldrums. I put on my smoking slippers, plugged a keyboard in and held down one note for a long time. It was a lovely low droning D.
Sometimes, the held down notes petered out and then threw out random weird noises minutes later. I waited for these noises. I used the same delays and filters throughout the mixing process, to I hope, create a cohesive nine track album. The title comes from two motivational postcards on the wall in my shed. ‘Stop Thinking’ and ‘You Got This’ but together, without punctuation, there’s a tone of doubt and negativity that appealed to me. ‘Stop Thinking’ has fallen off the wall and dropped behind the organ.
Which is your personal favourite track on the album?
Old Acid Crow Toes
Are there any other artists that have appeared on Wormhole World that interest you?
Yes, absolutely. I’m humbled to be amongst such talented company. Shabbos Ranks, Lil Obeah, Moray Newlands, Omega Institute, Eulipion Corps, Outside The Glitch, The Both And. Loads of stuff. I should be out the back making the tea and sandwiches.
What’s your favourite album by another artist?
My favourite album by another artist on Wormhole World is Shabbos Ranks Is Melting.
Who or what do you consider your influences?
I guess it’s the 80s synth pop and goth stuff I’ve listened to since I was a kid. That formative stuff stays. Best chuck some dub, punk, funk, disco and blues in the pot too and give it a stir.
Do you have a favourite instrument or go-to sound making contraption?
I tend to start with a small synth on my lap like a comfort pet and take it from there.
